Welcome to the home of the less conventional animals needing care in our world. Enjoy your stay and if you think you would like to help any of the animals you see here, please contact us. Hopefully we will never have very many because that would mean people are caring for them right and want to keep them forever. We can hope...right?
We are always in need of donations from lights to thermometers and medical supplies to monetary gifts and even sponsoring one of our animals. If you think you can help don't hesitate to ask.
Please visit our adoption site for available animals you might find worthy of calling your own...:-)

 | 11th Nov 2008 | WARNING -GRAPHIC!!
Album originally created 05/12/08. **IGUANA BITES TO PEOPLE** So you think igs are cute? Here's what can happen with an angry or unsocial iguana.

 | 1st Nov 2008 | Ball Pythons - Clutch, Pantera and El Dorado
These came in with Ginger and Lacey, the 'tiels. These babies are very easily handled and not head-shy in the least. These will make great additions to someone's herp collection. Though these are considered beginner snakes because of their easy handling abilities - they can be quite picky eaters.
They have all been successfully converted to f/t rat pups.

 | 1st Nov 2008 | Ginger and Lacey
These two girls are in desperate need of socialization skills. They weren't handled much and have been said to draw blood. These girls need someone who knows how to deal with unsocial birds.

 | 1st Oct 2008 | Sugar Glider x10
These were breeders and the couple just got elderly, bedridden and overwhelmed. 10 of them all together with 8 being left yet as of the time of the making of this album. Cuties, but very high maintenance!

 | 1st Jun 2008 | Blood Python
This gorgeous guy is a surrender taken in on 05/24/08. He was severely dehydrated to the point of dried urates impacting in the intestine and an upper respiritory infection. With 4 weeks worth of Baytril, plenty of heat and humid conditions - hopefully this guy will get well soon.

 | 17th May 2008 | Puryear Days May 2008
This was a team effort from the Henry Co. Humane Society and EAR for this all day event with the local carnival. There were puppies up for adoption and we brought Grim - our red-tail - on his first public appearance. Not only did he do fantastic even being in obvious shed (skin separating) - by the end of the day 4 people were helping him out of his skin...2 of those have never even held a snake before...:-D. Clover had a great day of children petting her and was even given a rose to munch while she lay patiently in her cage. It was a great day.

 | 10th May 2008 | Hunk - the English Spot
We've had a horrible misidentification!! Clover the doe is now Hunk the buck!! Actually - his little bunny foo-foos were removed on 06/05/08 - so he's not quite as hunky as he once was...but the name still fits. He's a big bunny!
Someone's discarded Easter bunny. He was let loose to fend for himself. His ears were so full of ticks that his rescuers hands were bloodied from them being pulled from those thin-skinned areas. He was very cared for at one time. He's gentle, curious, friendly, enjoys human contact, eats VERY well, and will get on well with other pets. This is truly a children's pet with good parental supervision.

 | 24th Apr 2008 | Tiel'C an Tiela - Cockatiels
A couple of 'tiels that have been here for a month before adopting out. They were very unsocial coming from a breeder who apparently did not do much with them. They went home with someone who has dealt with fearful biters before.

 | 27th Mar 2008 | Larkspur - the Sugar Glider
This very busy, very nocturnal and very gregarious little cutie is most certainly not for everyone. They require an incredible amount of care and time. Mostly time. This young lady will be going to a home that has other gliders only. She needs the companionship other gliders can offer...and so much better than a human can.

 | 20th Mar 2008 | Grim - Boa Constrictor Imperator
This boy is a wonderful addition to our educational program. He's about 4.5' long and as yet not weighed.
